The Air Force and Defense Media Agency joined the USAF 50 Summits Challenge participants during the official start of our challenge in DC.  Check out the video they produced and meet some of the folks who took the Air Force flag to the highest point in our nation's capital!!

The date is set and planning has begun for the inaugural hike in the USAF 50 Summits Challenge.  What better place to start this epic adventure than at the base of the Air Force Memorial in our nation's capital?!

The route is being scouted by a group of volunteers from the Capital Hiking Club, the Sierra Club and Air Force members.  It'll be about 7-8 miles and will take 2.5 - 3 hrs of easy walking to reach DC's highpoint.  If you are mobility challenged (recovering from injuries/surgery, battling an illness, or overcoming a different issue), let us know and we'll tell you where to meet us for the last mile of the journey!

It's going to be an awesome way to spend a small part of your day.  Meet a wide variety of Airmen and tell some stories.  Taking part in this historic event will be a story you can add to your collection.  Because that's one of the greatest things in life- accumulating memories/experiences- right?!
